Summer solstice

It’s the longest day of the year and the shortest night.

As a child back in Germany I remember on this day we would go to the mountains and watch a special celebration of camp fire. It’s called ” Sonnwendfeuer”, which kind of means when the sun turns  around towards summer and is been celebrated with some kind of camp fire and that’s how the beginning of summer is welcomed.

Well now here are the sun flowers in full bloom, representing the opening of summer. Their blossoms could look like flames of fire.
