I have posted before about the Lotus Flower, a plant starting to grow in muddy water and eventually emerging into a beautiful blooming flower. Which is a significant symbol especially in Buddhism.
Today I want to introduce the beauty of the leaves of the Lotus Flower.
The Lotus flower leaves are just as amazing as their blooming. Little water droplets on their leaves pick up dirt particles ..
…. this is kind of a self cleaning process…
…. this phenomenon is called ” Lotus Effect”
Enjoy what you see http://www.corneliaweber-photography.com
I was always so focused on the beauty of the lotus that I never paid attention to its leaf. Thanks Cornellia for sharing the wonderful green beauties!
Indeed they are gorgeous, Radhika, thank you for your kind comment.
The leaves of the lotus have very much the shape of petals. Your photos make this fact very clear to me. If we could turn the green into a bright orange colour – I actually can in my mind, then the leaves would be just as strikingly beautiful as the lotus flower itself. Very nicely photographed, Cornelia!
That’s a very interesting observation, Peter. The strengths and thickness of the leaves are amazing. Thank you dear Peter, your comment is always of great value to me.
Never thought about the lovely lotus leaf and the water droplet that absorbs the dirt. Amazing and such lovely pictures, Cornelia. Too good.
Kamal, isn’t this a great concept of nature, thank you for your kind comment.
Yes absolutely true, Cornelia and look at nature and its magic. Lovely. Welcome.
Absolutely beautiful!
Thank you dear Lisa, love to see you here.
The Lotus Effect is powerful. I like to think we humans can self-clean and purify our bodies and minds as well.
Indeed it is Linda, I would have liked to explain it more in depth, but the description of Wikipedia is way to scientific to put it in simple words. You are right we can clean and purify ourselves through more awareness of our thinking and actions. Thank you for your thoughtful comment, Linda.
Your pictures present ordinary things in an extraordinary way, Cornelia!
Arv, that is wonderful compliment on my work, it is important to hear such a great reflection, I appreciate that very much, thank you so much.
I can assure you, your perepective is different. Super work.
Great way to photograph the Lotus leaf, I specially like the first two photos because of the contrast between the treen and the small amount of blu in the background. Excellent!
Thank you so much “Quiet photographer”
Beautiful captures! Due to the Lotus effect, these leaves are still used as plates in some parts of India.
Thank you Megala, how interesting that those leaves are still used as plates, in India. I would love to have a meal served like that. Thank you again for your kind and interesting reply.
What a coincidence Cornelia, we are definitely like minded as you said!! No mud, no lotus 🌺 You take such lovely photos, I love these!!
Thank you dear Jennifer, indeed no mud, no growth. Enjoy the days.
Thank you Cornelia, you too 🌺
There leaf of the lotus seems as beautiful as the flower itself.
This one instance shows that there is beauty in every form what the formless manifests.
Well focused and captured.
Minds Together Cornelia

Yes indeed there is beauty in every form, Shiva, we all just need to see and appreciate it and take it in , as gratitude. Your words are filled with wisdom and I thank you for that.
