I recently had the privilege of photographing Chef Erika Tucker at “The Cellar” in San Clemente. ” The Cellar” downtown San Clemente is a unique restaurant , a cheese and wine bar, offering many events with great life music. Erika is a remarkable young talented chef, who studied @ French Culinary Institute in New York. She is a freelance chef ,among being a chef at “The Cellar” and teaching at The Ecology Center in San Juan Capistrano . Her approach creating her culinary dishes is light, organic and so full of delicious flavors.
This event at “The Cellar” had the theme of “Breakfast for dinner”, so the guests sported in Pyjamas had a wonderful time.
House made bagel, Vodka fennel and cured salmon, with beet lemon cream cheese….
Eggs three ways: truffle poached quail in a poached basket, scotched chicken and pickled deviled duck eggs…
House made nut butter pairings…
Lamb sausage on sweet potatoe hash with seared scallop on truffled grits
vanilla ice cream with huckleberry mouse….
to finish with espresso creamed with baked deliciousness….
At the end of the feast a complimentary of The chef Erika and The Cellar restaurant
Erika, you have a great a future ahead of you as a successful chef, you are so talented!
What a treat, Cornelia. Erika certainly has a way with presenting her food. Were you on assignment or did you get to taste these dishes?
Saw this in my email, got my morning cup of java, and pulled up the chair to make myself comfortable. I knew this would be an extravagant event! Beautifully and tastefully creative. I love the small portions that invite the eye and senses. Pieces of art – each dish and photo. Let the day begin!
Erika certainly knows how to tempt us with our eyes with her gourmet delights. You have captured each dish so that I would want to try them all! Now I must go find something to eat!
Very good looking pictures, Cornelia. Very jazzy food:)
Thank you so much Roger, I tried my best with the light available in the kitchen, which was fluorescent, no perfectness…. any advice from you as The master of food photography how I could have done better? I know this is a loaded question. I wish I could attend your grand workshop in London? From California at this time it’s a bit too far for me.
Such beautiful food and photography! Thank you for the treat Cornelia!
Thank you Azita, it was fun to photograph her food creations.
